I’ve added some updates to my portfolio page. These include
- Sample Newsletter. This is a template that will show prospective clients that I can create and write content for their newsletters. I use an open-source desktop publishing program to do this instead of Word. MS Word is not as flexible as desktop publishing. There are details inside the sample newsletter on pricing and what I can do.
- Editing Area. I’ve added an area to list the works I’ve been hired to edit. Some of the links are affiliate links, which means, if you buy a copy of the work through the link on my page, I earn a commission on the sale of the book.
NAMI South Dakota Newsletter
In other news, I have volunteered to take over and run the official newsletter for NAMI South Dakota. The newsletter will be completely re-vamped and produced via desktop publishing. This is a volunteer position for an organization that has helped me personally and advocates for a cause I care deeply about. It is an honor for me to be able to give back to them in this way.
Their website will be going through a complete re-vamp as well. The current site and newsletter no longer meet the communication needs of the organization.
The first issue of the new NAMI South Dakota Newsletter will appear in January 2014. NAMI South Dakota’s goal is to move from this being a quarterly newsletter to bimonthly.
Plains Magazine
After a hiatus, Plains Magazine will be returning, along with the column I write for it, which will now be named after my personal blog, Little Cheesehead on the Prairie. I will be placing clips up on the site as soon as they are published. My first column since February will be published in the December issue of the magazine.
